Our servers run Apache Web server over Linux(UNIX).

What do I need to use HostAvenue's web hosting services?
If you are viewing this page, then you have all that is required to take advantage of HostAvenue's service - a computer with the Internet connection.

Does HostAvenueT offer dial-up access to the Internet?
No, you will need to contact your local Internet Service Provider (ISP) for local dial-up access to the Internet.

Does HostAvenueT support and offer Microsoft Access, ASP, and SQL?
Yes. These features are specific to Microsoft NT Server and they are supported through our NT Web hosting plans.

Does HostAvenueT offer technical support?
Yes.  Via e-mail 9 to 6 PST.  We pride ourselves in our level of customer support.  Our online manual is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

What kind of connection does HostAvenueT have to the Internet backbone?
HostAvenueT connects to the Internet backbone through OC3 and multiple T3 lines to GTE, Sprint, UUNet, ANS. This ensures the fastest and the most reliable connection to the Internet backbone.

Does HostAvenueT also design web pages?

What is the typical HostAvenueT server configuration?
HostAvenue's minimum server configurations are Dual Intel Pentium II  machines with Ultrawide SCSI HDD. Unlike many of competitors who employs inexpensive IDE drives, using Ultrawide SCSI hard drives ensures the best server performance and reliability.

Does HostAvenueT offer shopping cart?
HostAvenueT offers MivaMerchant. Miva Merchant is a browser based Storefront and Catalog development tool that integrates cataloging, product maintenance, category management, shopping basket, order and credit card processing. Multiple stores can be maintained by one central administrator or specific store functions can be delegated to sub-administrators. The software is organized as a series of modules that can be field upgraded to provide new functionality without any changes to the core system. Developers can use the browser based interface to build stores or can get "under the hood" with complete access to the underlying source codes written in XML based Miva Script Merchants manage their stores with a user friendly browser based interface.

Can I securely accept credit card information through my website?
Yes, if you order our Gold Plan or above you have free access to our secure server. With our secure server you can securely accept credit card information.

Is it possible to process credit card transactions in real time? Yes, to do so you will need services such as CyberCashAuthorizeNet.  HostAvenueT will install CyberCash capability on your account for a one time fee of $69.95. However, you will still need to contact CyberCash to create an account.

Does HostAvenueT offer htmlscript?
Yes.

Does HostAvenueT provide any database solutions?
mSQL and MS SQL are supported. One mSQL database is free with both our Gold Plan and Platinum Plan.  MS SQL support is provided with our NT Plus Plan.

What statistical package does HostAvenueT offer?
All HostAvenueT plans include Wusage 6.0. However, you have access to the raw access logs and are free to use the statistical packages of your choice.

What are referral logs and does HostAvenueT offer referral logs?
Referral logs provide information on where a visitor to your web site came from. This information is provided using domain names, not IP address, making it simpler to interpret. HostAvenueT offers referral logs for $7mo.

Do you offer any ready-to-run cgi-scripts?
Yes, HostAvenueT offers several ready-to-run cgi-scripts with our Gold and Platinum plans. These scripts include FormMail(for emailing form results), cgiemail (also for emailing form results), Guestbook, WWWboard(bbs), counter. HostAvenueT is also constantly looking for reliable and popular cgi-scripts that we can offer and make available to our customers so expect this list to expand.

Does HostAvenueT offer chat rooms?
Volano Java Chat is now available.

Does HostAvenueT allow cronjob?
Yes, HostAvenueT does permit cronjob. However, we ask our customers to receive prior approval before running cronjobs because they may become such very resource intensive.

Does HostAvenueT support Microsoft FrontPage?
HostAvenueT will install the necessary extensions for you to use FrontPage and will support any questions related to the use of these extensions. Without the proper FrontPage extensions you will not be able to use FrontPage to publish your site nor can you use any of the tools that FrontPage supports (WebBots, ToDo Lists and the FrontPage/Explorer interface). However, HostAvenueT does not support problems and questions directly related to the use of FrontPage, instead we will direct you to Microsoft's FrontPage Technical Support.

What version of FrontPage does HostAvenueT support?
We support FrontPage 98 and 97.

Does HostAvenueT support third level domains (myname.HostAvenue.com)?
Yes, HostAvenueT supports and offers third level domains with any of our web hosting packages. Third level domains save money because they do not require InterNIC registration.
